Interview Attire for Ladies
Some things haven't changed. The best investment you can make when interviewing is still a dark suit for a corporate look. Simply change the shirts and blouses so you won't be dressed exactly the same for every meeting. Many employers are now sensitive that "corporate casual" has gone too far. If you dress for your interview like you're going to a company picnic, the interviewer can only expect that you will dress more casually when you get the job. If you are hired, you will be informed of the dress code and can then choose your wardrobe accordingly.
I can't say that one or two faux-paux's will eliminate your chances of getting to a second-round interview. Just consider that your competition might know better.
Dark pumps or dressy flats - No open toes or slingbacks.
Dark or nude stockings - Even when it's 95 degrees! And no tights.
One ring. And nothing grandiose unless it's your engagement ring.
ONE. I repeat ONE pair of small earrings - remove jewelry from any other visible piercings
Clear or light-colored nail polish

No serious colors or funky designs. Getting your nails done with a design on Thursday when you have an interview on Friday IS NOT AN OPTION. Telling a future employer that your nails match your attire for
the upcoming weekend or that Thursday was the only time you could get an appointment, doesn't cut it. The adult decision-makers you are trying to impress, may see this as putting your personal life before your professional self.
Make-up - Lipstick and mascara are plenty.
Perfume - Little or even less.
And by the way, now is not the time to show off a tattoo! Cover it!
Navy blue or black, knee-length, career skirt suit
Light colored blouse - Preferably white or cream
Little or no jewelry -
No matter what the corporate culture of the company you are interviewing with, your best bet is a dark colored career suit...
